Vinitaly is going to land in US
Are you ready? You can see the best italian wine fair directly in US: Chicago followed by San Francisco and Los Angeles. It’s a part of the , which will stop also in Tokyo on 27 November, for the 2nd Exhibition of the best italian wines, and in Shanghai, 29 November-1 December, for the Vinitaly Cibus China with the 9th Exhibition of wines, olive oil and typical produce.
But let’s come back to the US. Three stop-offs: 22 October in Chicago, 24 in San Francisco and 25 in Los Angeles. It is a good period for italian wine export: 15.5% in value and 20.5% in quantity in the first four months of 2007. In detail, Istat data for the first quarter of this year highlighted wine exports worth more than one billion euro, for a total of 5.94 million hl.
And the principal “customers” include the United States, and between January and April, they imported almost 780 thousand hl ( 16.5%), worth more than 260 million Euro ( 8.5%). This result sees the US consolidating its top-ranking position among countries purchasing Italian wines.
