WSJ Pink Champages Recommendations

Valentines SpecialNot sure how a copy of the Wall Street Journal came my way; but the weekend edition had a nice little piece and recommendations of rosé champagnes. The tasting was held blind only with champagnes costing less than $100.

Best of Tasting - Louis Roederer Vintage 2000 Rosé ($62) “Elegant and romantic, focused and pure, with beautifully integrated, toasty tastes and a fetching bit of creaminess on the finish”

Best Value - Moet & Chandon Rose Imperial Rosé NV ($43) “Romantic, deep pink colour”

Camille Saves Grand Cru Rosé NV ($49.99) “Dry, intense and quite elegant, with all the right tastes”

Gosset Grand Rosé NV ($64.95) “Fine wine, with lemony acidity and real charm”

Taittinger Prestige Rosé NV ($48) “Nicely austere, with brioche, lemon and minerals”

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Rosé NV ($48) “It’s complex and somewhat shy, comfortable and comforting”

Henriot Rosé NV ($49.95) “Lighter than some, somewhat shy, but lovely”

Their final recommendation - These pair best with a kiss.
