Jay-Z and Armand de Brignac Champagne

Armand de Brignac ChampagneI am sure we all hang on every word and follow every fashion that trend-setter Jay-Z proclaims. He is the guy that brought Crystal champagne to the forefront of a certain music sector (whose fans hadn’t a hells chance of ever affording it).

He accused the Roederer chief, Frédéric Rouzaud, of racism and began a boycott of all his products. And now has selected a new brand to replace it - Armand de Brignac Champagne, described by its US importer as ‘an ultra-luxury product’, features in the James Bond-style video for the rapper’s new record, Show Me What You Got.

The video, if you are really interested, is on Your Tube.

Yahoo! Answers list the champagne at upwards of $500 a bottle. Read more on Decanter.com

You are off base with your comment about Jay-Z’s fans not having enough money to buy Cristal (not Crystal).

I hope cristal saved that money they were making cause things will be real slow an buisbess will be like ford trucks slow
but but it ra

Your comment is in such poor taste. I am appalled, offended and disgusted by your presumptions.

Wow. just WOW.

If only I could remember a recent article that debated the endorsement by rappers and other musicians of such high value status products. It concluded that the vast majority of fans of such music styles were inner city dwellers either on welfare or low incomes; they cannot afford such luxury products.

My comment is directed at the endorsement of such products aimed at the poorest sections of society not at the people themselves.

Most people cannot afford such luxury products, myself included.

It would not be an issue if Harry Connick Jr were endorsing it.

Ok people we are really starting to get way to sensitive on this whole racial issue .And quite frankly it’s getting worn out, played out and tired.
Everytime someone makes a comment against someone it isnt an absolute that it’s racist.
My lord boycott if you must, but Cristal will be Cristal w/out the endoresment. It was around long before rap exsisted, and it will still appeal to whom it appeals to.
The comment made was stateing that it didnt want Cristal associated w/ hip hop.And that’s not a racist claim at all.(B/c hip hop is not black,or white)
Hip hop might not like a paticular view or comment here. But others might not like certin views an hip hop artist expresses. But its not racist, nether the less.
Freedom of speach is a 2 way street, and just as hip hop has fought for the right to voice a view here in America. So too has hip hop got to extend the same to others to express a free voice as well!
Think about it!!!!!!
